Working at CERE, I have the opportunity to serve as the external evaluator for projects that are making a difference for children and families in Mississippi. This is the sweet spot for me as an evaluator – work that is meaningful and connected to my expertise. One of those projects—Mission Acceleration— deserves a spotlight for the valuable work they have done over the past year to combat the impact of Covid learning loss. Led by a small program team and over 100 college students serving as tutors, they have assembled across the state to combat Covid related learning loss in reading.
