How can we best prepare students to pursue careers they value?
If students can plan a career path early on, they may be more likely to make academic choices that support their career goals. This is the theory underpinning the work of Pathways2Possibilities, an interactive, hands-on expo for 8th graders in public, private, and home schools.
Over the course of a two-day expo, student explore potential career pathways through interactive exhibits with professionals from these fields, who guiding students’ explorations and pass along their knowledge and experience.
Since 2016, CERE has been working with P2P to provide feedback on expo implementation and outcomes. We also have a longitudinal study underway, tracking outcomes among now-graduating seniors who first attended the workshop in the 8th grade.
